FIFA has allocated $209 million to football clubs whose players participated in the World Cup. As part of the Club Benefits Programme, football clubs will be paid at the rate of $10,000 per player per day in Qatar. For each player reaching the group stage, the international governing body has issued $180,000, which rises to as much as $370,000 for playing in the finals. The scheme will benefit 416 football clubs from 63 member federations. Interestingly, 17 out of the 20 highest-earning clubs come from Europe’s Big 5 leagues. Manchester City tops the chart with $5.5 million, having sent 16 players to the 2022 FIFA World Cup. In second place is Barcelona, which will receive $4.1 million. Manchester United, Chelsea, and Tottenham round out the top five with $3.6 million, $3 million, and $2.8 million, respectively.
