Description

Can you survive in La Liga by averaging just €8 million in transfers? Well, Osasuna has been doing this for the last 5 years. Since its promotion in 2019, the club has spent a little over €40 million on buying players. During the same period, the club earned €4.1 million through player sales. The highest amount the club has paid for any player was €8 million when they signed Croatian forward Ante Budimir in 2021. Interestingly, Osasuna rarely buys or sells players. The club believes in developing its own players and giving them first-team opportunities. In case they have to make any changes under extreme circumstances, the club prefers not to involve cash in player transfers, and the majority of its arrivals and departures are either loans or free transfers. Nine years ago, the same Pamplona side was on the verge of bankruptcy when they were struggling in the second division. It was then that the members, who are also the owners of the club, decided to adopt a sustainable philosophy that ensures an uninterrupted football spectacle.
