Dr. Kandace Hinton is an Associate Professor and coordinator of the Higher Education Leadership Program, in the Educational Leadership Department at Indiana State University. She also
serves as Special Assistant to the Provost for the Diversifying the Faculty Initiative. Dr. Hinton holds a master’s and Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration from Indiana University, Bloomington and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Jackson State University, Jackson, Mississippi.
Musically, Dr. Hinton served as Minister of Music at Messiah Baptist Church in Indianapolis and New Hope Baptist Church in Evansville. She was the choral director for the Evansville Black History Month Community Choir for 10 years. The co-director of the Evansville Philharmonic Orchestra's Gospel Night Choir with Shawn Humphries. Currently, Dr. Hinton serves as the interim Director of Worship and Arts at New Hope Baptist Church.
