Description

In this challenging passage from Luke 13:1-9, Jesus responds to tragedy in an unexpected way—not by explaining suffering, but by inviting us to turn to Him. When we see the brokenness in the world, our instinct is to ask "Why?" But Jesus shifts the question: "What about you?"

Through two tragic events and a parable about a barren fig tree, Jesus reminds us that we live in a fragile, fallen world. Yet, He also offers hope—hope found in the Gardener who patiently works to bring life where there is none.

Join us as we wrestle with Jesus' call to repentance, the reality of our own role in the world’s brokenness, and the deep mercy of the One who cultivates transformation in our lives.

  2. In what ways have you contributed to the brokenness of the world, and how is Jesus inviting you to repent?

  3. Where in your life do you feel barren or stuck? How might Jesus, the Gardener, be working to bring new life in that area?
