This week on the Grassroots Guy Podcast I was absolutely delighted to bring on another amateur boxer from Yeovil ABC, the Axe man, Brad Axe!
Brad like many others started his sporting life playing Football with his friends where he played for Lyde united as a youngster before he made the decision to take the plunge into the world of the boxing gym after his friend talked him into coming along to a session.
Brad started boxing at 15 and is now 9 years and 47 fights deep.  Brad is also the overall captain of the Royal Air Forces boxing team.  He has represented the RAF at international overseas events, and has also boxed in the UK armed forces finals.   Brads greatest triumphs in the ring were when he won the Western counties title, of which he has now done twice!
Brad puts boxing down as the reason he is where he is in life with the discipline and fitness that the sport offers you and he is now making a success of himself in the RAF fire service.  I love the variety of sport that boxing brings to the podcast and Brad Axe offered a great insight into the amateur game.
