Welcome to Season 2 Episode 5!
With a successful legal career, a happy family life and a valuable position as a pillar of his community, Barrister Stephen Lawrence looks like he pretty much has life sorted out.
He's been the mayor of a major regional city, he's a dedicated human rights campaigner, a champion for social justice and he's defended some of the worlds' most vulnerable souls, both here in Australia and Internationally. But as a youngster, his life was on a vastly different trajectory. By his own admission, he was on a one-way ticket to, well, no where good. Until, in desperation, his parents sent him to a boarding school for years 11 and 12 and that's a decision he now says probably saved his life. without that two years of boarding, the Stephen Lawrence of today would be very different and not necessarily good different. Now father to a son, Stephen talks to Destination Boarding about his own experience and how it will help him form him and his partners choices when it comes to their own sons future.
