This week we interview nurse practitioner Dr. Carla Homez. She specializes in aesthetics and body contouring. Originally from Venezuela, she got her MD in her country before coming to the United States. She spent 12 years practicing with the CoolSculpting® founder. Homez joined Bowes Dermatology in 2010, where she became one of the first Specialists in the world utilizing CoolSculpting technology. She believes that CoolSculpting is a life changing procedure. Carla lets us know that doing this procedure requires just licenses, and you don’t have to be a NP in the state of Florida to operate the laser energy devices.
She opened her own company named Beauty & Sculpting, LLC. She also does aesthetics and body contouring at Lemel Medical Spa near Miami Beach. She frequently travels back to the US to host trainings on how to use the laser energy devices and body contouring. She specializes in CoolSculpting, Emsculpt Neo, Miradry, Thermage FLX, Laser Hair Removal, VelaShape III, Clear and Brilliant, IPL and other technologies.
