#selfcare has over 23 million tags on Instagram - it seems like with everyone you talk to has an idea of what self care should be. But what self care has become is maybe not what it was intended to be. In this week’s episode, Tarini and Nadine discuss how companies have capitalized on the idea of self care by making it a money making and marketing scheme, which is far from what it was originally started as. Ironically, self care started as a way to combat capitalism and become more in tune with yourself, but when every youtuber and “influencer” equates self care with the latest thing to buy, you can see where the lines get blurry.
