Green Day sang “Wake Me Up When September Ends” because they clearly hadn’t lived through January in a pandemic before. The first episode of the new year is almost a follow up to the last episode of the last year. While 2021 holds a lot of hope for new beginnings, Nadine and Tarini just aren’t feeling it. This week, they discuss life in shiny new 2021 (hint: it doesn’t feel shiny or new) and why this year doesn’t have the same sense of refreshed energy a new year usually brings with it. A new year is definitely a chance to be out with the old and in with the new, but that was before 2020 and 2021. This year’s version is out with the pandemic and in with the vaccination. Feeling the post-holiday (or general life in a pandemic, unprecedented times, winter, January) blues? Join the club - this week’s episode is for you, listen to feel a little less socially distanced and a little more like you’re still able to hangout with your friends.
