Description

What do you do when the situation goes from bad to worse? In Acts 12:1-5, the early church is in a full-blown crisis. Their leader, James, has been executed by King Herod. Now, Peter is in prison, heavily guarded and awaiting the same fate. From every human perspective, the door has been slammed shut and hope is lost.  This message, "God of the Unexpected," explores how we can find faith in the face of fear. We learn that every crisis presents us with a choice. As Friedrich Nietzsche wrote, “There will always be rocks in the road ahead of us. They will be stumbling blocks or stepping stones; it all depends on how you use them.” When we face a crisis, we are called to look beyond the immediate obstacle to God’s ultimate fulfillment.  This requires us to endure setbacks by trusting His timing and plan. The Christian life is not an escape from hardship. Dietrich Bonhoeffer reminds us, “When Christ calls a man, he bids him come and die.” The cross is not an interruption to our journey, but the beginning of it. With this understanding, we can pray with confidence, knowing that even when doors are closed in front of us, the God of the Unexpected is already opening others for us to walk through.  Join us to discover how to trust God when all hope seems lost and watch Him turn our greatest trials into our most powerful testimonies.
