I'm sure you've heard of the gender pay gap, but did you know there is a connection between lower pay for women and religiosity? The gender wage gap is a complicated issue, but research shows religion affects the individual choices, organizational practices, and societal norms that impact the gap in pay between men and women. Today I share from a study that compared the pay gap in religious and non-religious states and countries, talk about my own personal experience with wage discrimination, and extend a challenge to learn more about the wage gap in order to lessen discrimination within our own communities.
Challenge: Read some of the editorials and articles I’ve written on the gender pay gap (see links below). The pay gap is real, and society cannot explain it all away. We need to lessen the discrimination factor within our own spheres of influence!
