So, I wanted to speak on something slightly different today. It’s hard for this time of year to
pass without thinking about the massive loss to life and change in society. It was the
darkest days I can remember and sent shockwaves through the world.
I could share with you where I was, but it would pale compared to yours. Like many of us I
had a feeling of helplessness for what was unfolding on the other side of the planet.
But I did promise myself to pay my respects if I ever got to NYC and many years later, I sat in
the 1 st Precinct talking to an officer who had lost friends and colleagues during the terror
attack.
During what was the worst of times, the death, the destruction, and loss of humanity he
found comfort in goodness and generosity of people. Even in the toughest times people
were putting themselves before others and making the ultimate sacrifice.
Even it’s only for today, embrace the good, the light and the positivity that lies in all of us.
