Mika Salo is a Finnish motorsport icon.
The driver from Finland competed in over 100 Formula 1 Grands Prix, racing for some of the sport’s most iconic teams—including a memorable stint as a super-sub for Ferrari.
Beyond his Formula 1 achievements, Salo also found success in the Champ Car World Series, the American Le Mans Series, and twice won the prestigious 24 Hours of Le Mans.
Australian fans may also remember his victories at the Gold Coast International event in the V8 Supercars Championship and the Bathurst 12 Hour.
In recent years, he has served as an FIA steward and worked as a Formula 1 broadcaster for Scandinavian television.
