June 11, 1962. As the prison inmates of Alcatraz slept peacefully in their beds, prison guards made their nightly rounds in the cell blocks. Little did they know, three inmates had successfully busted out from the iron grip of the prison walls, and had set sail on a makeshift dinghy into the misty midnight air of the San Francisco Bay. Despite extensive searches in the immediate aftermath as well as a decades-long manhunt for the escapees, no conclusive proof has ever emerged as to the fate of the three men. Did they make it to freedom, or did the Pacific Ocean become their final resting place?
