This week we look towards the institution, growth and (ahem) development of the SAEF's development portfolio under the newly-appointed National Development Officer, Mariette van Jaarsveld.
Sports development initiatives may include creating or strengthening: opportunities to participate in sport, volunteering and administration, coaching and coach education frameworks, community engagement programmes, projects targeting specific demographics within a sport, fundraising strategies, entry level to elite performance pathways, as well as optimising the sport for all members - including our horses and notably our employees.
SAEF is committed to these and is looking towards constantly instituting programmes that support this, so joining us in studio will be Dr Sheelagh Higgerty, our National Head Veterinarian, to give us insights on the welfare officer programme that is in action, as well as the head of the groom's education programme, Renae Erasmus.
