With nine years between this one and the stunning Mad Max: Fury Road (widely regarded as a “perfect” action film), will audiences take to this messianic origin story that is quite different from any other film in the franchise or leave it, Miller, and those hungering for a direct sequel to Fury Road on the shoulder and looking for a tow? Warning…bad Tina Turner/Auntie Entity impressions ahead.
