Description

Colossians 2:14-15 Having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross. Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it.

In this passage, the phrase “handwriting” is translated from the Greek word Cheirographon. This term goes beyond simply referring to normal handwriting or written text. It carries a deeper significance. The word Cheirographon is made up of two components: 

Therefore, the word Cheirographon doesn't simply refer to the writing; it points to the power behind the writing. It represents a document backed by power, it’s not just about the content of what was written, but the spiritual power behind it that gave it weight.  

This message takes us deeper into understanding those powers, the spiritual forces connected to what was written against us, and how we, through Christ, can confront and overcome them.
