Ted Ackerman was a standout on the Montana Tech basketball team 50 years ago. From 1971 through 1974, Ackerman tossed in 1,681 points for the Orediggers.
He went on to a successful coaching career at Butte High, where his girls' teams went 96-80 from 1982 through 1989.
With the Oredigger men playing some huge games (hopefully two) at the HPER Complex this week, I thought it would be a good time to go back and remember a Tech great from a half century ago.
