Dear Families of Room F1,
We’re going to have a great upcoming week. Below is a short description of what’s coming up and important links and/or announcements:
Watch These Announcements on Video Here
Reader’s
Workshop
The students will continue the Reader’s Workshop Unit: Mystery (Foundational Skills in Disguise). We will spend the week working together to see common characteristics of mysteries, studying red herrings, and finding hidden clues.
Writer’s
Workshop
The kids continue on our Writer’s Workshop Unit: Changing the World (Persuasive Speeches). The kids will raise the level of their writing by paragraphing and considering the audience when they discard information and choose words that evoke emotions.
Math
The kids will start our final unit of the year (we will be doing more review later): Mass and Volume. We will start by orienting ourselves to the vocabulary and real world examples of “mass”.
Social
Studies
The kids will study both American and California Heroes after we establish as a class “What makes a hero?”.
Science
Nothing this week.
Thank you,
Mr. Gray
