Miles Donahue is an MPhil Philosophical Theology student at St Cross College in the University of Oxford, hailing from Albuquerque, New Mexico. A devout Christian, Miles and I became friends when we met last term over lunch discussing the cheerful topic of the existence of Hell.
Why is philosophical theology, unlike pure theology, valuable to everyone, regardless of one’s religious affinity? What has Miles’ experience as a gay Christian been, especially given his conservative church roots? What value do religious institutions and teachings have in the modern world? How do we grapple with the concept of Hell? What lessons have we learnt from our experiences with cancer scares? Why is gratitude important? How are we finding life at the University of Oxford so far?
Today we cover all these topics and more in this fun and insightful episode of The Jamie Bolam Podcast! So, pop on your Sunday Best, drop an Amen in the chat and join us as we delve into the fascinating world of philosophical theology!
