Description

We enjoyed doing our women at work episode so much, we followed it up with a men at work episode! In each of the movies we discuss, the protagonist's job or career is central to their self identity or to larger personal or societal issues. Sometimes that's good, other times it's bad, but it's never boring and it always leads to a lot of Filmi drama. Should you let your job define you? How do you navigate workplace ethics? What are the perils of ambition? What happens when the object of your work disappoints you (or, in the case of Ra.One, kills you)?

Under discussion: Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman, Rocket Singh: Salesman of the
Year, Jana Aranya, Ra.One, and Endhiran.

Stray thoughts:
• Someone could do an entire podcast on cops in Indian cinema, even just
on the better and more unusual examples.
• Are you, like Beth, tired of stories about bratty man-child artists?
• Is capitalism to blame for...everything? (Probably.)
• Have you rewatched Ra.One and if so has your opinion of it changed?
