With the holiday break in the rearview mirror, it’s time to wrap up the year in 2023 and move forward to 2024, and even though the penguins are not playing in the winter classic this year, that doesn’t mean they don’t have business to attend to before we get to that. Nope in fact, it means the opposite because the penguins we’ll see the New York Islanders twice before 2023 is in the books and it all begins today as they take on the Islanders in Long Island at the UBS Arena tonight on a Wednesday night. it’s the first of four meetings between these two teams and the Pittsburgh Penguins are coming off a 5-4 overtime loss to the Ottawa Senators on the Saturday night before the Christmas break and at the other end of the ice they face a New York Islanders team who is coming off a 5-4 win over the Hurricanes on that same night. So two games that both ended 5-4 scores and one of which was decided in Overtime. Who’s going to get the first W of this season series between the New York Islanders and the Pittsburgh Penguins? We’ll all find out in due time. It’s the Penguins Versus the Islanders coming up NEXT!
