The Pittsburgh Penguins will look to get back in the win column after a hard fought loss to the Los Angeles Kings on a very special night in Pittsburgh for the former franchise icon in Jaromir Jagr as the Penguins loss to the Kings by a final score of (LA 2-1 PIT) on Sunday night.
The New York Islanders are also looking to get back in the win column after coming up short their stadium series against the New York Rangers on Sunday afternoon as they lost in overtime to Rangers by a final score of (NYR 6-5 NYI)
Last time these two teams met was at the end of December and the start of the of 2024 on (Sunday, December, 31st, 2023) where the Islanders lost to the Penguins again but this time by a final score of (PIT 3-1 NYI) as they avoided a repeat of their lost to the Penguins on (Wednesday, December, 27th, 2023) when they were shutout by the Penguins by a final score (PIT 7-0 NYI)
