A DEVOTIONAL THOUGHT: We remember the great Lutheran theologian, Martin Chemnitz, whose birthday is today (born 501 years ago). Some have said that if it wasn't for the theology of the "second Martin (Chemnitz)," the "first Martin" (Luther) would not have survived. Chemnitz sought Lutheran unity based on Scripture and a confident faith in Christ as God and Man.
