The Holy Trinity Cross reminds us of God's love for us, especially as articulated by St John: "For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life" (3:16). Albrecht Durer's "Adoration of the Holy Trinity" altarpiece and Lucas Cranach used this image of the Father's gift of the Son through the Spirit.
