A DEVOTIONAL THOUGHT: Proverbs 23:24 says "the father of a righteous man will rejoice greatly and he who fathers a son will be glad in him." We have several fathers--by blood, of the household, of our nation, and spiritual fathers--as Luther reminds us. We give thanks to God for all fathers, realizing as St Paul says, "I kneel before the Father from whom all fatherhood in heaven and on earth derives its name" (Ephesians 3:14-15).
