A DEVOTIONAL THOUGHT: On this date, we recall the martyrdom of John the Baptist by Herod Antipas (Mark 6:14-29). John spoke the truth to authority. He pointed to the One who is the Truth, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world (John 1:19-34). May we speak the Truth to authority whenever we have opportunity by the power of Christ's Spirit.
