This week we watched Michael Haneke’s shot-for-shot 2007 remake of his own 1997 Austrian film - Funny Games. We are joined for this breezy ride by our friend Alex Gratzer and together we try to unpack the many emotions this grueling film elicits. Shawn gets very frustrated by the characters' decisions, we try to imagine the horror of being trapped in a car playing a classical music guessing game, we all wish Naomi Watts would wash her hands, Shawn is a sweet, sweet summer child, we make some very astute and off-the-beaten-path comparisons, and we dig into the fourth wall breaking and the infamous "Rewinding Scene" and we all need a shower now.
