So after all that talk in episode one about my dissatisfaction I thought I should give you a resolution on what I ended up doing. I decided, when I graduated fellowship that July, I was going to take a short break.
Y’all … the stress I felt not having an answer to what I was doing next, because you know that’s the next question, as soon as you do one thing, somebody request the next thing. There is no room for standing still. Like if you’re not moving or growing you’re stagnant. there’s no rest for the weary.
I had no idea how much I internalized the grind until I decided I really desperately needed to take a break, and I didn’t even know how to justify even to myself. Sis was having a whole internal struggle by herself.
Me. I am sis.
At the end of fellowship, they gave us an assignment to write a personal narrative. A narrative usually explains an issue, how it relates to your story and should inspire others to take an action. And I wrote my narrative about taking a break.
In episode 2 I share the personal narrative that I wrote at that time. Notice how I still had to qualify my rest and what I would be doing.. how id still be contributory and productive.
Enjoy
