Description

Hebrews. 2:1-11

Jesus didn't just bring us out of hell but into heavens; this is why He is the captain of our salvation (Hebrews 2:10). The whole essence of Christ's Burial and Resurrection was for our glory (1 Peter 1:11).
A captain means a chief pioneer, a leader, or an author. Jesus being the captain of our salvation means He is the first of our salvation, a trailblazer who made way for others coming behind. Jesus as the captain of our salvation, means there is no other way to be saved except through Him because He met all the requirements. Any other way leads to hell.

Captain of our salvation also means He provides protection over our lives and healings in our body (Isaiah 53:5). Jesus as our captain, is a pattern to be imitated. By imitating Christ, it means we can conquer sin. He did mighty miracles, so we should learn that too. He also attained glory through self-denial, and we must not do self-seeking.
The implications of Jesus being our captain and leader are that:
- He initiated salvation, and He will also defend it
- We will end up where He ended up
- He encourages us whenever we're down
- He gives the commands (John 5:9-11; John.2:5).
