This episode was inspired by Jason Matheson from "The Jason Show" asking Ginny during her guest appearance, if there was ever a time during the relationship with Chad if her spidey-senses kicked in. The answer is ABSOLUTELY! There were clear signs, situations and indicators that something was wrong. Sometimes people want something to work out so badly that they may ignore these signs...intuition, hunches, gut feelings, or call them what you will. Do you believe in intuition? Do you trust your intuition? While Ginny never envisioned or necessarily desired having a family unit like this, she loved having this family of 4. We might ignore red flags because we're too far into a relationship, job, or certain situation and we feel like we've invested too much. Ginny talks openly about how her hands get tingly when she has a strong, intuitive feeling about something. Do you have an intuitive sensation? There's also a distinct difference between intuition, instinct and logic. Intuition is a based and formed around experiences. Instinct is more hardwired and less flexible, like a primal or fight or flight reaction. Instinct is innate. For example, if you hear a lion roar behind you, you will likely run for the hills. And logic is more logical and rational. You may use processes or spreadsheets to make decisions. They use the example of doing your taxes in the Positive Psychology article. You probably wouldn't lean on your intuition to determine how much you owe in taxes. The scientists outline that there is still a lot unknown about intuition, and it's somewhat challenging to define, but that it is still important. They reference several books in the article, including Malcolm Gladwell's book, "Blink". There is even a YouTube video linked in the article that you can watch on intuition. Decision making is likely to be a combination of intuitive and rational analysis. Have you ever had an intuition, a gut feeling, a hunch that you ignored and it turned out to be right? Send a message and share your story.
