This week we wish a happy big 4-0 to Tom Cruise in his second breakout role AND second big movie of 1983 after RISKY BUSINESS, which we reviewed just a few weeks ago (third if you count THE OUTSIDERS), in the high school football drama ALL THE RIGHT MOVES; and Christopher Walken in THE DEAD ZONE, also in his second film of the year, as well as the second adaptation of a Stephen King novel of the year (after CUJO - find our pod on that!) and director David Cronenberg's second film of the year after VIDEODROME back in January (and, yep - you guessed it - there's a pod for that, too!). We learn a lot about Peter's high school football career and dating life this episode, if nothing else... So, please rate, like, subscribe; all that good stuff. We mention at the end of the episode that we'll be back with a baseball-themed episode next week, but we decided to push that to the following week because next week is HALLOWEEN, so - duh! - we gotta do some scary movies! Since they fall outside of the parameters of out 40-year concept, we decided to look back at two seminal horror classics we wouldn't otherwise be able to do for the pod (and one which begats the other), John Carpenter's HALLOWEEN (1978) and the original FRIDAY THE 13th (1980).
