Mike is New Zealand's first Wikipedian-at-large and is currently spending a year, thanks to the Wikimedia Foundation, with the aim of helping people and institutions better engage with Wikipedia.
Mike is also a entomologist and museum curator whose PhD from Duke University was based on on the evolution of body size in giant flightless birds
