Welcome to the second part of the 2 part special on the ABSA Cape Epic, where I catch up with some Elite and Amateur riders who took on the race to get both sides of the story.
In Part 1 I sat down with Jason Bouttell, an Elite racer who had a really strong race out there to take a top 20 finish with his partner. So in this episode, I catch up with Tom and Mike, two listeners of the show who went out and competed in the amateur race.
We discuss their preparation, race experience and top tips for anyone going out to ride this legendary event. It was really good getting their individual perspectives of the race as well as the challenges they faced due to their different abilities/skill sets.
