Today’s conversation left me feeling super inspired and ready to lift some heavy shit! Red Wiard (@redalicious_strongwoman ) is a multi-strength athlete who has competed internationally, putting Aussies on the map. She is a registered nurse with a Masters degree in mental health. She is also a LT Nursing Officer in the Army Reserves who works with veterans with PTSD, anxiety and depression and is a member of Mates 4 Mates Australia, a veteran support group.
She is a lover of music, board sports and roller derby and a HUGE part of the Australian strength community, giving back through MCing,
reffing, scoring, spotting and whatever else is needed.
In 2022 she became the 9th woman in history to lift the famous Dinnie Stones in Scotland at a combined weight of 332kg.
Red and I chat about how strength sports make you stronger in ALL areas of your life, backing yourself, getting comfortable with discomfort,
embracing all of who we are, refusing to play small, loving life, mental health, Shibari (the Japanese art of decorative bondage), exploring our sexuality (safely) and MORE!
Her infectious drive and commitment to making life better for everyone is sure to leave you as stoked as I am. I’m so excited to share
this episode with the world.
