In this blog bite, we’re focusing on the call Jesus gave His followers to persist and on having stubborn hope in the midst of unanswered prayer based on the parable of the persistent widow in Luke 18.

The test in persistence is time. Hope deferred makes the heart sick (Proverbs 13). Unanswered prayers make us cynical and skeptical and we experience a hardening of heart. In spite of what we may see, we are to pray and not give up praying.

• Persistence looks like continuing to call on the name of God despite the difficulty of the present or the weight of the past.
•  It looks like continuing to seek God on a matter past the usual time - even when the miracle hasn't manifested in the timeline we overtly or unconsciously gave God. 
• It means choosing to apply God's truth again to the places that currently taunt and torment us and silence our prayers for a breakthrough.
