About poet Barrett La Mont
A native Californian, Mr. La Mont now makes his home in Oregon. He attended Santa Monica High School,
Santa Monica College and went on to study at UCLA. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War.
After his service duties were completed, he prepared for a career in banking and real estate appraising. For a
time, he also worked as a “background actor” in Hollywood for several film and television productions. He has
been a writer all his life, particularly drawn to creating poetry.
