‘Who is breathing?’

This is an important and helpful question we can ask ourselves.

Of course, it is your body that’s breathing, and if it stops there will be some major problems.

But are you really in control of your breathing?

If you are, then see how long you can stop breathing before your body forces it to start again. 😁

And what about your thoughts and emotions?

Are YOU in control of them? Or do they just happen on their own?

As we ponder these important questions, we can learn about this whole process and shift our understanding.

Ultimately, we can identify less and give ourselves a 3rd person detached perspective.

Instead of saying ‘I am angry’, we can say ‘My body feels anger right now.’

And when we do this, it becomes much easier to accept the emotions, thoughts, and sensations in our bodies.

In this acceptance we release the suffering they cause us.

In the absence of suffering, we find our happiness.

In our happiness, we find our authentic self.

And I promise you: you can do this. All it takes is a little practice.

What are your thoughts on this?
