A few weeks ago, we went to St. Lucia
I got to get out of the dreary cold days (BYE Canadian winter) and into the sun. I swam in the ocean. I relaxed in a mineral bath, stood under a waterfall, and ate some of the best food I've ever had.
It was awesome.
But the best thing about this vacation was the perspective shift it gave me
I was thinking about all the things I worry about on a regular basis:
Do I have enough business?
Am I making enough money?
Will this client hate the way I coach?
What if no one comes to my conference?
And I realized something important about these worries:
None of this matters.
In fact, most of the things we worry about don't matter.
If the client hates my coaching, they'll fire me. And I'll get a new client.
If I'm not making enough money, I'll figure out how to make more.
These are all solvable problems.
And they aren't really what matters.
I was sitting on the beach, looking out at the ocean, and I realized:
*This* is what matters.
Spending time with my husband. Having adventures. Laughing.
Enjoying life.
It's incredible what a little perspective can give you.
For me, in this moment, it's given me back my happiness.
