An absolute industry expert and figure head in the chair this week - Andy King, Chair of GM Active and industry consultant. Andy has had a wonderful career, from being a drummer, being a mature student to moving into our great sector and progressing through council leisure, Virgin Active (where he was their 1st ever GM), Fitness First, GLL, Carlisle Leisure and GM. There is so much knowledge, guidance and mentoring in this chat and we are so lucky to have had him.

Some highlights were:

- How to prepare for an interview. Prepare! Don’t do the bare minimum. Ask around, look at glass door, look into their values. Don’t leave it too late.
- Advice for businesses on their recruitment - use of agencies, being clear and having the courage to not just recruit because you are filling a gap.
