Description

Join April and Danielle as they engage in conversation with Courtney Patterson, Reference Associate at Dibner Library at Tandon School of Engineering. Courtney has a dual degree from Howard University in journalism and public relations, with a minor in theater arts. Courtney was formerly a library assistant at Columbia University, and began working at Dibner in February 2020. Courtney worked at Planned Parenthood and this experience sparked an interest for her in these conversations about sex and highlighted the many obstacles people have to go through to obtain reproductive healthcare.

In the interview, Courtney talks about a number of myths and norms that she has encountered and how they have impacted her journey. During the discussion, Courtney shares her passion finding her own way of doing things and how being an aerialist keeps her grounded. The conversation might make you laugh, might make you feel less alone, and will hopefully make you think about how your own journey influences you today.
