Today on the podcast, April and Danielle are joined by author, father, and MFA candidate in Creative Writing at GSAS, Ronnie Huett. Ronnie identifies as a non-traditional student in that he went back for his bachelor's degree at a later stage in life and started at a community college. He transferred to Columbia University to complete his undergraduate degree and worked as a teacher before entering the NYU MFA program.
During the podcast, Ronnie quotes from poet Harold Norse and shares about the time he found his dad’s Playboy magazines. He opens up about how heteronormativity has impacted his identity and how his race and gender have influenced his dating life and relationship. Additionally, the discussion explores the challenges of finding a condom that fits and how to navigate using them. Check out Ronnie’s article called Cosmic Latte, and keep an eye out for more of his writing to come.
