Are you curious to learn more about Title IX and how it works at NYU? There is some misunderstanding and confusion surrounding the law, so it is important to clarify what it refers to and how it protects students and other members of the NYU community. For those who may not know, Title IX is the federal law which addresses sex discrimination in educational environments.
Join April and Danielle as they speak to the NYU Office of Equal Opportunity (OEO)/Title IX team about what they do, what affirmative consent is, and what services are available to students. The NYU OEO/Title IX team assists and provides support to those who have experienced harm, also known as Complainants, and those who have been accused of causing harm, or Respondents. Among other things, they connect individuals with resources on and off campus, provide accommodations, and investigate formal complaints.
