Description

On this episode of the podcast, April and Danielle are joined by Counseling and Wellness Services Psychiatrist, Dr. Brunhild Kring. Dr. Kring has worked at NYU for the past 17 years and recently retired from her role as Associate Director of Psychiatry and is now a part-time staff psychiatrist. Dr. Kring has written on topics related to sex and gender throughout her 30 year career.

In this episode, Dr. Kring shares the context of how the medical field has focused solely on the biology of sexual experiences and not the social and political lens. We talk about the barriers to accessing psychiatric care, what to expect in an initial evaluation and in ongoing treatment with a psychiatrist. Dr. Kring explains how different medications might have an impact on our libdo and sex lives as well as her research on cyber sex.
