April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM), a time to bring awareness to the impact of sexual assault and ways to prevent harm. There are events and activities around the city and country to learn more about the impact of trauma and how to prevent sexual and relationship harm from occurring.
Consent is protective factor, and when practiced might reduce the risk the harm can occur. If you are interested in learning more about root causes of harm then check our our Good Sex @NYU season 1 episode 4. Additionally, we have episodes on setting boundaries (season 1, episode 10) and how to honor boundaries (season 1, episode 21). Check out NYU's Sexual Misconduct, Relationship Violence, and Stalking Policy for more information on NYU's definition of consent. Tune is for more tips on consent.
If you or someone you know has experienced a sexual assault or relationship violence, we encourage you to reach out for support.
