Description

In our last study, we saw the coming judgment not just for them in their day but also the final judgment that is coming, when God pours out His wrath on the whole world. We also saw the mercy of God being everlasting, even to an unfaithful people. Sin and rebellion have to be dealt with. God doesn’t have a blind eye to sin, that’s why Jesus had to come. Your sin and my sin had to be dealt with and in order to be restored back into relationship with God, our sin had to be atoned through the blood of Jesus Christ. For those who do not believe, their judgment is still awaiting them, but even with Israel, there will be a remnant that will be saved. Finally we saw a prayer for God to move on Israel’s behalf. The prayer consisted of an honest assessment of where they were in regards to their relationship with God, and it was also a prayer of desperation. In this study we will begin with a continuation of that desperate prayer in chapter 64, and God’s response in Isaiah 65.
