In our last study we saw the suffering Messiah. This prophetic word from Isaiah speaking of the coming of Jesus and how He would suffer for our sake. Taking upon Himself the iniquities of us all, when He Himself had none. Despised and rejected by men, particularly His own.
John 1:10-11
10 He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and the world did not know Him. 11 He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him.
We also saw that it pleased the Father for Him to suffer, not because of the suffering itself but because of His obedience to the Father’s will. We know it’s the same for us today, it does not please God that His children are suffering, but in this fallen world and because of sin, suffering is upon the whole world.
But it pleases God when we walk in obedience to Him in the midst of suffering. This week we will see God’s mercy showing Israel that He will not forget them and His covenant with them has not ended but will continue forever.
This week we will see Gods mercy and blessing upon Israel, not because of what they have done, but because of who He is and the promise He has made.
