In our last study we saw that while the Lord’s mercy endures forever, repentance has to come before we see the fullness of His mercy. We saw what God did when Nineveh repented, he relented on their eminent destruction. Today, repentance needs to be preached to the church. If we pray for revival but have not acknowledged our disobedience to preach the full counsel of God’s word, how can we expect to see the move of the Spirit and transform our land? Gideon when he met The Angel of the Lord, didn’t grasp this fact. He questioned God as to why God hadn’t miraculously delivered them from the hands of the Mediante’s as He did in the past with Egypt. The nameless prophet had already given him the answer, it was because of their disobedience. I pray that the church wakes up lest we go through the coming persecution sooner rather than later. This week we will get more insight on Gideon, the way He saw himself and his needing to see God confirm his call before he steps out.
