Last week we saw the fact that there is no gray area regarding a relationship with Christ. In today’s culture the church has tried to somewhat blend in where according the God’s word we are supposed to stand out. The key thing that we looked at last week was the absolute that loving our brother is not a suggestion but rather the one thing that distinguishes us from the world. This is the evidence that we are abiding in Jesus.
We talked about Jesus being the true shepherd speaks to His sheep and they know His voice and hear Him. The Spirit of God who dwells in us confirms His voice through His word and draws us close to Him. Ultimately it is what it is and He is who He says He is so there will be no excuse when it comes time to meet Him face to face. You are either His sheep or the world’s goat.
Matthew 25:31-34 “When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the holy angels with Him, then He will sit on the throne of His glory. All the nations will be gathered before Him, and He will separate them one from another, as a shepherd divides his sheep from the goats. And He will set the sheep on His right hand, but the goats on the left. Then the King will say to those on His right hand, ‘Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:
This week we will continue to see the contrast between those that are His and those that are not, and John continues His theme of loving one another.
