Description

Last week we saw God take Gideon’s army of 32,000 down to 300 which is less than 1% of all who came when Gideon sounded his trumpet. God knew that men would try to take the glory for the victory so He took that mindset out of the equation. He alone would fight this battle and He alone would win it.

We need to understand that today. It’s God who fights for us, we literally bring nothing to the table except our trust in a Holy, Righteous and sovereign God, who knows all things and sees all things and accomplishes all things in accordance to His will.

God did this for Gideon and He will do it for you, but as Gideon realized, he came to the end of himself just as you and I must do.

This week we will see pride and jealousy come against Gideon as he continues in God’s call to deliver Israel from the Medianites. We will also see when all is said and done, Gideon fails to keep his eyes on the Lord and makes an image of himself which becomes another snare for himself and his family.
